This listing is for a handmade leather gorget.
The gorget is made of 8-10 ounce latigo cowhide. The gorget covers a greater surface area than my other gorget option,and also features attachments for shoulder armor (my style 3 shoulders are shown in the photos) As with all my armor, the gorget has the option of being impregnated with wax, which dramatically increases the rigidity, and therefore the protection to function as armor in reenactment fighting, HEMA, LARP, or whatever your hobby happens to be.
The Gorget is attached with a single strap and buckle. The buckles are silver as a standard, but can be made in brass if you'd like.
The gorget will fit neck sizes from 14"-18", but if you want a more exact fit, include a measurement of the circumference of your neck when ordering and I will make it closer to your exact size.

Be advised that if you choose to wax a lighter color it will cause the leather to darken, so any color but black will end up being a very dark version of itself.

Why so expensive?
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. A lot of time and effort has gone into every item we offer, and we do our best to make sure that everything that leaves our shop lives up to our standards and hopefully yours.
Can you make a sheath for a knife other than the ones offered here?
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
Do your holsters meet IDPA regulations?
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
Are your leather sheaths lined with Kydex?
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
Does the knife come with the sheath?
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.

I bought this primarily for use in medium intensity longsword sparring. In that context it is exactly what I was looking for: an extra layer of neck and throat protection that would fit over the collar of my gambeson and under my fencing mask, and would stand up to thrusts and cuts from a longsword feder delivered at about 80% speed. It also looks reasonably “historical,” which is a big bonus. Craftsmanship is excellent and the price is right. I’ll be recommending this piece to my fellow HEMA people.
