This is a handmade leather sheath for the Benchmade 162 and 162-1 Bushcrafter series knives.
This sheath is an improvement over the thin leather and kydex sheath that comes stock from benchmade.
It is made out of 8-10 ounce latigo cowhide, and features a 1" welded steel D ring and snap closure. The sheath has an integrated loop for a fire steel, and hole to attach a lanyard.
The design is essentially the same as the stock sheath from Benchmade, but mine is made of a sturdier leather, and can be ordered with a removable dangling loop to attach to the D ring. The lanyard hole at the bottom does not typically come with a grommet installed, as the surrounding area is stitched, as shown in my photos, I can install one if you like, let me know when ordering, and I will add one for you.
We offer both silver and black snaps. Let us know in the order notes when ordering what color you would like. If you do not note your preference we will give you the snap that bests suits the color of your sheath (black with black, silver with brown etc.)

Why so expensive?
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. A lot of time and effort has gone into every item we offer, and we do our best to make sure that everything that leaves our shop lives up to our standards and hopefully yours.
Can you make a sheath for a knife other than the ones offered here?
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
Do your holsters meet IDPA regulations?
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
Are your leather sheaths lined with Kydex?
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
Does the knife come with the sheath?
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.

I ordered this sheath on Feb 22, 2024. It was delivered on March 21, 2024. The delivery time is well documented to take a while, so I was not worried about that. This sheath is very nice. It definitely feels high quality. I have noticed two things so far. The leather is VERY stiff. closing the strap on around the knife is pretty difficult. I am sure it will stretch out with time, so I will keep this review updated. The other thing I noticed is that the leather feels very dry. I am that because the leather is so stiff, it might tear. For the wait time, I am disappointed with the build. See pics for uneven clasps.

First off, this is absolutely perfect for the Benchmade Bushcrafter. I ordered two, my Bushcrafters have the green and a tan handle for the other, so I ordered light brown and black. They are stunning! We haven't taken them out and played in the woods with them yet but I have no doubt that they would more than surpass anyone's expectations. The fit for the knives was snug on the strap, which is good, the fit settled in like a dream. Stitching and leather color are top notch. I thought they seemed a bit pricey, then I held it with the knife in it. Yeah, no regrets at all, rock solid quality. Besides, who puts a Benchmade in a garbage sheath, it's a knife worthy of a quality sheath and this is it. Make it fit your budget and get this sheath. I'd pay more for an option to include a choice of ferro-rod or sharpener.
